Waiting for Abu Zayd - A Documentary by Mohammad Ali Atassi, Syria/Lebanon 2010, 82min.
The Arab Film Festival of Tübingen, Germany encourages dialog between cultures, religions and societies by screening recent movies in Arabic language. This year's edition from 20 until 26 January 2011 featured Arab directors embedded in foreign societies, a documentaries section, a children and youth day and a special program on Lebanon. For the first time, the spectators awarded an audience price.
On Friday 21 January at 18.00 the festival showed Mohammad Ali Atassi’s film "Waiting for Abu Zayd” with the support of the Heinrich Böll Stiftung Middle East. The screening was followed by a discussion with the director.
