Bastian is studying for an undergraduate degree in political science and sociology at Humboldt University Berlin. In summer 2015 he held an internship position at Heinrich Böll Foundation Middle East in Beirut where he conducted research on Lebanese civil society. He will resume his studies at the University of Berlin in mid of 2016.
