Ray Jureidini is currently an Associate Professor of Sociology in the Department of Social and Behavioral Sciences at the American University of Beirut. In February 2011 he joined the Institute for Migration Studies at the Lebanese American University (LAU) as well as Associate Professor of Sociology. In August 2005 He was an Associate Professor at the American University of Cairo and Director of the Center for Migration and Refugee Studies. He is a specialist in migration and refugee issues pertaining to the Middle East.
